I do not know your background, your family situation, your old religious beliefs , possible persecution you might face or anything about you except that you want to convert to Christianity but are afraid.
I remember thinking what my friends would think of me when I made that commitment and being afraid of their rejection.
Fear in situations like this is natural, you have nothing to be ashamed about.
To become a follower of Jesus Christ is a serious choice. It will be the most monumental decision you make in your life, and is something you should make of your own free will. When you come to Christ you have to come with all your heart and soul.
But having said that the main thing I want to tell you is...
... be not afraid! You are in God's hands and He will always do what is best for you.
Here are some of the main things I cherish about my Christian faith:
You need Jesus, you cannot save yourself.
Without Him, you cannot have a right relationship with God.
Without Him, you cannot have a right relationship with yourself.
Without Him, you cannot have a right relationship with your family or friends.
Without Him, you cannot have a right relationship with the planet or anything on it.
Follow Christ and you will become a better person.
This has been my personal experience.
I am far from perfect, anyone that knows me knows I have many flaws. But anyone that knows me before I became a Christian knows I was far far worse then.
By letting the Spirit of God teach me, I am able to slowly but surely become the person God wants me to be. And without Christ that would be impossible.
I am not sure if you have ever heard the saying "the grass is greener on the other side." It basically means that if you go to a different place or follow a different path, you will experience more peace and joy and happiness.
The grass is greener with Jesus.
I have more joy, more wonder, more fun, more fullfillment now that I am a follower of Jesus.
And struggles and suffering that I experience are not meaningless, they are bearable and through them I grow to become a better person.
I hope you are willing to now make that reasoned leap of faith. Read on if you want to learn how to become a Christian.
